The Congress is the second party to release its candidates' list after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the elections in Karnataka. While the Election Commission is yet to announce the schedule for assembly polls in the state, the voting is expected to be held in April-end or May.
With assembly elections approaching, factionalism within the Karnataka BJP is threatening to derail the party’s efforts to win another term in the state.
For the BJP, the results bode well for 2024. The party is now the largest in the North-East and will likely snag a large chunk of the region's 25 Lok Sabha seats come 2024.
According to sources, apart from BJP president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Organization Minister BL Santosh and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have been given places in this team.
